As the Engineering Manager for the Margin team, you will be at the forefront of innovation for Robinhood's essential suite of Margin offerings. This highly dynamic role involves collaboration with product, data, and other engineering teams. The features delivered by this team are among the highest leverage within the company, directly contributing to generating $100s of millions in revenue. This role is based in our Toronto office, with in-person attendance expected at least 5 days per week. Requirements

  • Technical expertise: You possess a strong skillset in either backend or frontend development.
  • Strong product sense: You understand user needs and can translate business goals into elegant technical solutions.
  • Leadership experience: Proven ability to lead engineering teams, drive complex projects, and deliver impactful results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative approach: You excel in working with diverse teams and can influence collaborators across fields.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and empower your team: Provide technical and strategic leadership, mentoring engineers, and nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Drive product excellence: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other teams to define and implement a roadmap for seamless payment experiences.
  • Develop new features: Build and optimize solutions for global markets, ensuring they are intuitive and reliable.
  • Promote standard methodologies in engineering: Ensure high-quality code, scalability, and security in all deliverables.
  • Drive high performance by setting clear, focused goals, giving real-time feedback, stretching top talent, and scaling impact through focus, innovation, and tech.
  • Hire and retain top talent by setting a high bar, hiring only those who raise it, investing in onboarding, and addressing talent issues quickly and fairly.
  • Create community by connecting work to purpose, removing friction while prioritizing safety, building trust and inclusion, and leading from the front with integrity.
