About The Position

The Podcast Mission develops strategies and builds products that serve creators and listeners interested in podcast and video content. As the #1 podcast platform in the world, we look to continue improving and scaling the experience of podcasts on Spotify. We build and maintain products like Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, and are always eager to provide creators with easy ways to increase their audiences on Spotify and give them new innovative means for monetization. The Podcast Mission is the product and technology team responsible for building tools that support creators across their entire journey — from hosting and distribution to audience growth, monetization, and insights. Within this mission, the Megatron squad sits in the Creator and Publisher Experience product area. This team owns core analytics surfaces across Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, helping creators better understand their audiences and grow their shows. Formed through the merger of two established teams, the squad is now focused on building a modern analytics platform across Spotify’s podcast ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Experience leading engineering teams delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in data and analytics domains, including concepts like pipelines, migrations, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and guide teams through ambiguity and change.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and other stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Experience building or evolving team culture, especially in periods of transition or growth.
  • Care about creating an inclusive, supportive environment where individuals can do their best work.
  • Communicate clearly and adapt your message for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curious about how AI can improve engineering workflows, product capabilities, and team effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering initiatives, from early scoping through launch and iteration.
  • Partner closely with Product and Design to shape a technically sound and achievable roadmap.
  • Support your team in delivering high-impact work by removing blockers and improving team processes over time.
  • Empower engineers to clearly communicate technical decisions with cross-functional partners.
  • Foster a strong team culture through regular 1:1s, feedback, and a focus on psychological safety.
  • Guide architectural discussions, balancing short-term needs with long-term system quality.
  • Evaluate trade-offs across technical investments, including platform evolution and technical debt.
  • Use data and business metrics to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Model and encourage thoughtful use of AI to improve development workflows and enable better insights for creators.
