About The Position

The Engineering Manager, Advanced Technology is responsible for the delivery, quality, and reliability of software, data, and automation work produced by Advanced Technology, as well as the success of the team’s billable client projects. Success is measured by work that ships, withstands review, and remains in use. The manager contributes technical expertise and quality oversight while leading delivery of billable data, analytics, and software projects. The role is accountable for project scope, schedule, budget, client communication, and final quality. It also establishes standards and practices for software, data, AI use, development, deployment, documentation, and support; oversees technical reviews; and collaborates with firm leaders and teams on project pursuits, quality management, security, governance, training, and delivery performance. The position supervises implementation and facilitation staff, including hiring, performance management, and professional development. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
At least 8 years of software or data engineering experience, including at least 2 years leading engineers.
Proven ownership of quality through code review, testing, and validation of data and analytical results.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and consultation skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with C#/.NET, REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud platforms.
Data engineering or data science experience, such as building data pipelines, analytical models, or production analytics; described as a significant plus but not required.
Experience delivering client-facing or billable technical work, preferably in professional services.
Agile experience.
Experience with Revit or other BIM/CAD APIs, Monday.com, or Deltek Vantagepoint.
AEC or related project-based industry experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute individual technical expertise to project work, assure quality, and provide guidance to team Leads.
Lead delivery of billable data, analytics, and software projects; oversee scope, schedule, budget, client communication, and final quality.
Partner with Market Sector Leaders and Client Focus Managers to support pursuits, scope technical services, and develop fee estimates.
Create, introduce, and maintain software, data, and AI-use standards for the quality, security, and functionality of Dekker products.
Perform or direct technical reviews of Advanced Technology work before release, including code review, data validation, and testing analytical results.
Collaborate with the Director of Quality Management and Quality Management Team to integrate Advanced Technology quality practices with the firmwide Quality Management System.
Establish development, deployment, documentation, and support practices, ensuring each released tool has a named owner and support plan.
Translate scoped initiatives into technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans with the Solutions Architect.
Collaborate with the Managing Director, Systems + Security to uphold data governance, security, and access standards.
Supervise individuals in implementation or facilitation roles, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
Define and monitor delivery and quality KPIs and report them through the Advanced Technology portfolio review.
Coordinate, with the DekkerU team, training related to tools built or adopted by Advanced Technology.
Identify and communicate team progress, accomplishments, challenges, and support needs.
