About The Position

This is a Summer 2027 Engineering Internship position at Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. The internship is onsite and offers exposure to a manufacturing environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, and modern manufacturing practices. Ruger aims to provide interns with a resume-building experience. Interns will work directly with a mentor on a manufacturing line, assigned a "summer project" to design and build something for implementation into the production line. Project progress will be monitored, and portions will be completed individually and with other employees. Past intern projects have included inline gages, automatic part marking machines, automatic oilers, tool cost savings initiatives, and laser marking stations. Interns will also shadow mentors, attend design reviews and new product development meetings, interact with suppliers, and plan product flow and manufacturing improvements. They will work with production associates to understand manufacturing methods in real-time, cultivating a "Servant Leader" atmosphere to solve problems for the production line. At the end of the internship, interns will create and deliver a presentation to engineering and management.
