Intern, Civil/Structural Engineering
About The Position
Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an Engineering Intern to join its team in Greeley, Colorado. The intern will work with the design team, provide consultative support, and assist the field marketing team in building relationships with civil engineering clients while supporting commercial objectives. The role offers hands-on experience applying engineering knowledge to civil and/or environmental engineering projects in support of engineers, contractors, and developers. The intern will collaborate with department design engineers to develop and present project-specific solutions, assist with engineering designs, plans, calculations, and analyses under senior engineers’ supervision, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. The position also supports submittals, production, and product delivery; may involve site visits to assess project progress and quality; and requires maintaining engineering standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program; Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, database management software, and basic CAD.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with department design engineers to present project-specific solutions to clients.
- Provide designs and advice to help secure and integrate company products on site plans.
- Assist in creating engineering designs and plans under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support communication and timely project completion.
- Support submittals, production, and product delivery.
- May conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality.
- Maintain engineering standards and procedures.
- Support the field marketing team in establishing and building relationships with civil engineering clients.
