About The Position

Review construction plans to determine conformance with permit standards and specifications which include paving and a broad range of underground utility installations. Inspect construction activities and prepare related reports. Interact with contractors, engineers, RCOC staff and local government officials to answer questions and resolve issues with Permit projects. Must perform duties in a safe, professional, and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation. Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with math training sufficient to calculate volumes.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in construction inspection, commensurate with duties described above is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.
