About The Position

This 12-month development program is designed for final year undergraduate or Masters students in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines, as well as recent graduates from the class of 2026. The program aims to build foundational skills essential for future success in the Engineering function at LSEG, based in Norwell. Participants will gain knowledge of LSEG, Financial Markets, and the business through a global induction and an 'Engineering Bootcamp' week. The program includes group projects aligned with LSEG goals, a mid-point skills offsite called 'Ignite', and opportunities to earn industry-recognized qualifications with study days. Graduates join on a permanent basis and are aligned to an Engineering Team from day one, providing a secure framework for development. Roles within Engineering involve applying technical and analytical expertise to build, operate, and improve platforms, products, services, and models. This spans software and platform engineering, reliability engineering, quality assurance, cyber security, service operations, service management, financial engineering, and data science, working across the full lifecycle to solve complex problems and ensure secure, resilient delivery in a product-led, data-driven environment. Specific tracks include Software & Platform Engineering, focusing on building and improving software and infrastructure, and Reliability Engineering, focused on identifying and reducing risks to performance and availability.

Requirements

  • Must be a final year undergraduate or Masters student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline and have completed all the requirements of your course before August 2027 or a fresh graduate in class of 2026.
  • Genuine curiosity about Technology and strive to pursue a Technology career path, as evidenced by studies, extracurriculars or work experience.
  • Understanding of the breadth of the organization, how it functions and the vital role that technology plays in supporting LSEG and its clients.
  • Strong interest in technology proven either via work experience, extracurricular activities, or academic studies (e.g., internship in a technology role, technology focus in a university project, learning to code or use a particular technology).
  • Demonstrable interest in financial markets, built through studies, work experience or extracurricular activities.
  • Curiosity for data and an ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.
  • Ability to connect the dots and think strategically.
  • Focus, resilience and flexibility to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, using communication skills.
  • Ideal candidates will have the rights to work in the US without restrictions for the duration of the graduate programme and join on a permanent basis from day one.
  • Consideration for candidates beyond core software degrees (e.g., computer science, software engineering, Mathematics and Informatics) and candidates with physics, engineering, electronic degrees who can demonstrate an interest in Technology as evidenced by extracurriculars or work experience, or personal projects.
