About The Position

Ethos is seeking graduates for its Graduate Programme, specifically for a Mechanical Engineer role within the Engineering Studio. This program offers hands-on experience across multiple departments and projects through rotations, aiming to broaden technical expertise and provide exposure to multidisciplinary building services. Graduates will be supported by a mentor and a buddy throughout an 18-month structured journey, which includes technical, professional, and leadership training modules. The program is designed to accelerate development towards professional chartership and a career in building services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in relevant mechanical engineering coursework.
  • Must be based in Ireland and able to attend our Dublin office at least three (3) days per week under our hybrid model.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit MEP (exposure to BIM modelling is advantageous).
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design, thermal load calculations, and fluid dynamics.
  • Awareness of CIBSE, ASHRAE, and Irish building regulations.
  • Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and embrace new technologies and engineering tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous placement, internship, or project experience in building services is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and analyse mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Rotate across groups within the Engineering Studio to gain multidisciplinary project exposure.
  • Develop expertise in mechanical engineering principles and apply them to real-world challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, reports, and project documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS, and EN standards.
  • Gain field exposure through site visits, inspections, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building services solutions.
