About The Position
This is a co-op student position for an Engineering student at ATCO Electric Yukon in Whitehorse, Yukon. The duration of the work term can be 8, 12, or 16 months, starting in September 2026. The role involves various engineering tasks including system modeling, calculations, planning studies, and project support. Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an Engineering co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
- Excellent computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely, using appropriate technical vocabulary.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
Responsibilities
- System modelling (CYME system models for load flow and protection) - 10% of time
- Engineering calculations (Load checks, Voltage drops, Microgen) - 40% of time
- Planning studies (Small projects, Coordination) - 10% of time
- Project support (Closeouts, Supporting EAs and engineers on large projects) - 25% of time
- General tasks - 15% of time
