About The Position

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-Op Student to join our Central Engineering team in Sudbury. The role is a fixed-term on-site position, 12 months in duration, beginning September 2026. This posting is only eligible if you are enrolled full time in a University Bachelor of Engineering program or College Engineering Technology program. As an Electrical Engineering Co-op student, you will be provided with an opportunity that will allow you to gain valuable experience, knowledge and be a part of shaping our mining operations. Additionally, in this position you will follow Vale’s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards, assist the engineering team with design and service support to the Sudbury mining and surface plant operations, develop skills and abilities related to the provision of engineering in Ontario, ensure compliance with the applicable laws, standards and guidelines, provide technical support to enable safe and efficient operations in an industrial plant, mine or production laboratory, and complete assigned projects safely and on time. Project work may include engineering document scanning, engineering standard editing, data analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Bachelor of Engineering University program with a discipline in Electrical Engineering or a College Engineering Technology program.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering knowledge
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products; Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work
  • Maintain high level of professional conduct
  • Must be lawfully able to work for the Company in the country where the role is located.

Responsibilities
