About The Position

This position provides engineering support and risk management services for an advanced development and research program focused on platform integration (PMA-268). The role involves Design, Drafting, and Installation (DDI) activities, including technical analysis of platform arrangement, Size, Weight, Power, and Cooling (SWaPC) impacts, and the development of recommendations for program objectives and design decisions. The Engineering Analyst will also support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, analyze contractor and Designer-of-Record (DOR) deliverables for compliance, and assist program management in design reviews. Proficiency in CAD tools is essential for modeling and visualization. A key aspect of the role is risk management for design and installation activities, involving identification, documentation, tracking, and reporting of risks, as well as supporting the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) in risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • A Final DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in DoD program office(s).
  • Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Patuxent River, MD.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products, and database management.
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, Siemens NX).
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA SEA 05 drafting/design standards and NAWCAD WOLF SAIW / oLSI ship-integration processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering-support and risk-management services for the execution of an advanced development and research program in support of platform integration (PMA-268).
  • Perform technical analysis of platform arrangement/layout and Size, Weight, Power, and Cooling (SWaPC) impacts, developing recommendations that inform program objectives and design decisions.
  • Support and coordinate the development and maintenance of technical documentation such as, Design Guidance Documents (DGD), Installation Guidance Documents (IGD), Installation Information Packages (IIP), and Interface Control Documents (ICD).
  • Analyze contractor and Designer-of-Record (DOR) design and drafting deliverables for conformance with vendor drafting standards and program requirements.
  • Support program management and team leads in design reviews and future program activities, using CAD tools to model, verify, and visualize design and installation approaches.
  • Provide risk management for design and installation activities in accordance with the DoD Risk Management Guide for Defense Acquisition Programs: identify, document, and track engineering and installation risks in the program risk database; develop and report risk metrics for program leadership decision points and design reviews; and support the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) in mitigating installation-related risks.
