About The Position

The Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance needs in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role requires a strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units, along with basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures. The ideal applicant is customer-service oriented and committed to creating a memorable guest experience.

This is a full-time position with benefits. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required, and the schedule may vary. The position is at the Courtyard St. Petersburg Clearwater/Madeira Beach, a 91-room waterfront hotel in Madeira Beach, Florida.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience; hotel experience is preferred.
• Strong background in commercial refrigeration.
• Knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations and proper chemical handling and disposal.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for work assignments.
• Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform upkeep, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other equipment.
• Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain quality and cleanliness standards throughout daily assignments.
• Follow house, safety, departmental, and security procedures.
• Assist with inventories as scheduled.
• Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
