Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Systems Engineer specializing in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) to join its Systems Engineering Team. The position is on-site in Melbourne, Florida, and is contingent on program funding; the start date will be determined after funding is confirmed. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance and any required program access. Travel is 10% of the time, and relocation assistance may be available. The engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses across total systems and their lifecycle. The role translates customer and product requirements into systems solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints, including through functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition. E3 responsibilities span program phases and design levels. The engineer develops and interprets E3 requirements, guidelines, models, and analyses; designs shielding, EMI filters, and interface circuitry; and prepares and reviews E3 procedures, reports, analyses, and control plans. The engineer presents E3 topics at design reviews, participates in cross-disciplinary reviews and standards-based testing, and contributes to E3 processes and organizational expertise. Experienced engineers also train and mentor less-experienced E3 engineers.
