About The Position

PWT is an established Engineered Wood Products company growing rapidly across North America. We work in close partnership with a talented group of EWP distributors, dealers, and builders. Our team, network, customers, and industry are all looking for new EWP professionals to play a role in shaping the future of EWP. We pride ourselves on being nimble, flexible, helpful and solutions oriented in how we work internally and externally. We are expanding our areas of influence daily and are looking for the right team members to join our dynamic group on this journey. We have two positions open on our engineering team and we’re looking for someone to bring us new ideas to add value for our customers and industry. The mission of the Engineering Team is to ensure that the products we make are safe, meet all specified material properties, are correctly designed / specified, and when needed repaired. The Engineer - Market owns the relationship between PWT Engineering, our distribution partners, the specification industry, and builders. The focus is on collecting and sharing market information with the rest of the Engineering team and company. This position works closely with the PWT Sales Team, Distributors, Dealers, and Specifiers to understand the applications EWP products are used in by territory and region. Specifically, how EWP products are specified and used in residential, commercial, and industrial markets. They will share that information with the Business and Engineering team to ensure that PWT products meet market expectations and are supported by the PWT Technical Literature and Design Software.

Requirements

• Bachelors in engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Light frame construction experience
• Knowledge of current codes is critical.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in design of EWP products (I-Joist, LVL, LSL, PSL, GLB) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with the technical staff at all our distribution partners.
• Collect and share market knowledge related to engineered wood products, applications, and specifications.
• Respond to design questions.
• Develop engineered solutions to complex design conditions.
• Meet or exceed the Engineering Service Level Agreement (SLA).
