About The Position

The Lead Capital Markets Systems Engineer is a senior front office leader accountable for the analytic trading engineering across Fixed Income. This role owns the analytic systems and the engineering delivery of quantitative pricing, risk, and execution capabilities that underpin trading performance, real-time risk management, balance sheet efficiency, and electronic market competitiveness. The role owns the architecture, development, and upgrade of front office quantitative risk and trading platforms. It is accountable for comprehensive P&L attribution calculations, pricing quality, execution efficiency, and risk. The role sets engineering and quantitative tool development strategy aligned to Capital Markets and Trading leadership priorities and oversees an analytics delivery platform across multiple asset classes and product portfolios (Rates, Credit, Structured Products).

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in front office quantitative trading and risk application engineering, or systematic trading covering OTC derivatives, cash securities, and exchange traded products
  • Demonstrated leadership experience operating at Trading Head / Capital Markets leadership level
  • Strong front office credibility with a proven track record of P&L influence through quantitative systems, models, or platforms
  • Deep understanding of fixed income instruments, market structure, pricing, curves, spreads, and risk dynamics
  • Proven experience delivering production-grade trading systems in regulated environments

  • Direct accountability for cross-asset or multi-desk quantitative platforms
  • Experience leading electronic trading, market-making, or systematic execution capabilities
  • Strong design and code review discipline in production-grade trading systems used to stream live markets, price risk, and support execution across Fixed Income, with engineering standards built around continuous availability, full failover, rapid recovery, and operational resilience under market conditions
  • Strong governance experience partnering with Market Risk, Model Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit
  • Ability to influence capital efficiency, balance sheet usage, and inventory optimization
  • Executive presence with the ability to translate technical concepts for senior business leaders
  • Experience modernizing legacy trading infrastructure or leading platform transformation initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop quantitative trading, pricing, risk, and execution platforms
  • Partner directly with Trading Heads, COO, Risk, and Technology leadership
  • Approve the deployment of new models, strategies, and platforms into production, subject to Technology change management, architecture, and control processes
  • Ensure strong governance, controls, and regulatory alignment for trading systems
  • Lead senior talent development, succession planning, and hiring strategy
