The engineer will analyze complex technical data, develop business requirements, and recommend practical technical solutions, processes, procedures, standards, and documentation. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining spare strategies, replacement recommendations, and supporting portfolio planning to enhance fleet reliability and inform investment decisions. The role also requires evaluating equipment specifications, industry announcements, and emerging technologies to support equipment standardization and monitoring capabilities. The engineer will analyze the population, application, condition, and risk of distribution substation breakers, line breakers, and reclosers across the fleet in collaboration with various stakeholders. Support for online asset monitoring programs, training material development for operational technology, and providing technical support to leadership and internal partners are also key aspects. The position requires managing changing priorities, occasional travel, storm duty support, and special projects, while also supporting a safe work environment and FirstEnergy Values.
