About The Position

The Materials & Processes Engineering and Mechanical Disciplines (MPE + MD) department is seeking talented engineering candidates to join our Engineering Development Program. This program provides hands-on training to help build a career in aerospace. It is an accelerated program offering professional growth opportunities for college new hires and trains them to be future leaders. Participants complete three to four assignments over 36 months to build technical breadth and leadership abilities, complemented by discipline-specific training. Following the program, participants are expected to transition into roles aligning with their long-term career goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with common materials characterization and test methods. This may include but is not limited to mechanical test methods, thermal analysis, spectroscopy and microscopy methods.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and demonstrated experience working effectively in teams as both a leader and a participant.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for engine component, materials and/or chemical process development, analyses, testing and other support functions for both commercial and military engine applications.
  • Specific tasks may include mechanical testing, structural analysis or structural software tool development, materials analysis, metallurgical or chemical analysis, inspection processes or coating property analysis.
  • Document and analyze data/results, prepare reports and presentations, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on their findings.
