About The Position

The position is in the O49 Facility Program Management Office. Selected candidate will be responsible for leading shipbuilding teams and Facilities Value Streams in defining project goals and requirements. This includes creating documents that articulate these goals and requirements and serve as the basis of design for the projects. The role also involves guiding the project team in defining the project delivery process best suited for a particular project and ensuring compliance with best industry practices in the consultant and constructor selection process. Administering conceptual design and estimation efforts through the use of specialized consultants, and monitoring and reviewing design documents for compliance with project goals and requirements are also key responsibilities. The candidate should possess project management, systems engineering, organizational and interpersonal skills and be familiar with requirements management, configuration management, and risk management principles. Effective communication and customer relation skills are required with extensive experience in creating documents that clearly and creatively convey concepts, expectations, schedules, and serve as the foundation for coordinating teams in project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ph.D. and 4 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
