About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking an Engine Test Cell Operator for their Corinth, MS facility. This role is responsible for identifying and resolving engine problems by following departmental guidelines and standard work, or by making changes based on root cause corrective actions. The position may require floating to other areas of the engine production line or test cell areas to meet daily production needs. The role emphasizes working in a fast-paced, safety and quality-focused team environment, adhering to contamination control guidelines, and utilizing various tools and computer systems.

Requirements

  • Experience performing basic mechanical reports, including minor repairs (ex. hose or line tightening), flow timing, troubleshoot timing, calibration, or oil pressures.
  • Experience performing Electrical Testing.
  • Experience with reading and understanding blueprints/schematics.
  • Sufficient computer skills to work with the following systems: EPIX, Common Test, CTES, MES, CATET, PSPS, SIS Web, and BIQ.
  • Good working knowledge of hand tools and various power tools (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.).
  • Experience performing advanced troubleshooting of engine test failures.
  • Basic understanding of PLC inputs/outputs.
  • Must pass a background screening.
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must pass a post-offer medical questionnaire.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of engine mechanic experience in automotive or diesel engines.
  • One year of vocational program (after high school) or equivalent on the job training program.
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical capabilities.
  • CPI- Record and awareness.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused team environment to perform various assembly and test processes.
  • Adhere to contamination control guidelines.
  • Perform print reading and quality checks as defined by standard work.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, gages, hoists, presses, torque tools, and other necessary tools.
  • Follow production schedules.
  • Utilize various computer systems including MES, BIQ, Pinpoint, Epix, ITest and Cat ET.
  • Operate an engine test cell and perform initial diagnostics and adjustments.
  • Utilize overhead cranes and/or electric pallet jacks to move parts.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and be self-motivated.
  • Cross-train to provide flexibility.
  • Work in an environment without close supervision.
