Requirements

  • Two or more years in a supervisory/management role and/or team lead role.
  • Three or more years of experience in the production environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in maintaining daily production team metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Experience in deploying and utilizing TPS and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with MS Office suite of tools.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a battery or electrical component/electrical assembly production experience.
  • JDE, SAP, or other ERP system experience.
  • Smartsheet or similar experience.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Sets an example for safety and fosters a safe work environment within functional area of responsibility ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures. Provides leadership and participates in the Risk Assessment, 5S and STOP programs.
  • Ensures that quality objectives are achieved. Monitors processes to ensure quality checks are carried out and develops countermeasures against defects. Provides feedback to employees in functional area regarding work processes, procedures, and work assignments.
  • Uses problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns to their functional area of responsibility, elevating to manager as appropriate.
  • Plan and schedules the work of a production area for maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment and material within budgetary, cost and quality standards while providing supervision, coordination, and leadership to and reviewing work accomplished by your assigned staff in a production area. Monitors employees’ morale and takes action to support a positive work environment.
  • You’ll facilitate on-the-job and other specified training for employees in functional area of responsibility, ensuring all employees are well trained for safe and successful completion of their jobs. Provides cross training to employees to provide challenge and opportunity for employees and to ensure flexibility in meeting daily work assignments/commitments.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, makes hiring decisions, and takes disciplinary action including termination
  • Performs similar duties as line employees on an as needed basis.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in methods or procedures to continually improve operations using TPS and Lean Management Practices.
