About The Position

ENERGY PROCUREMENT MANAGER The Role: The Energy Procurement Manager is a mid-level position providing comprehensive energy procurement services by supplying product recommendations, market analysis, pricing evaluation, and contract management to ENGIE Impact clients. They are experts on all deregulated energy markets, independently providing these services for clients throughout North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with concentration in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 4+ year of relevant experience, particularly in the areas of energy procurement, energy contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, quantitative analysis, or buying/ selling retail energy.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Demonstrated mathematical and analytical ability.
  • Ability to provide world-class customer service to both internal and external customers, combined with strong communication, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and delegate work as appropriate.
  • Strong database and analysis skills.
  • Ability to make complex decisions, juggling multiple high-priority deadlines, and complete large volumes of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of PUC, utility rules, regulations and tariffs preferred
  • Experience with Energy Supply Management workflow and platforms preferred
  • Utility experience or knowledge of utility bill calculations preferred.
  • May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide energy procurement consulting services to each assigned client; including, but not limited to: RFP development, market assessment, risk management, strategy development, contract negotiation, contract management, and product management
  • Independently develop and maintain contacts within a client organization
  • Demonstrate an authoritative and consultative approach that builds support within the client organization
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory markets
  • Meet regularly with clients, including in-person visits and teleconferences
  • Communicate with utilities, local distribution companies, and energy suppliers to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence
  • Explain and educate clients on difficult energy market dynamics and metrics
  • Assist in development of new energy procurement products and marketing materials
  • Oversee Regulated Rates Monitoring & Optimization product for subscribing clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
