Endoscopy Technician - GI Lab - Days
About The Position
The Endoscopy Technician - GI Lab position is a full-time role located in Highland Park, IL. The primary responsibilities include assisting the RN and physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, responding to emergencies, and managing procedure set-up, supplies, equipment, and endoscope processing. The role also involves meeting on-call criteria and potentially floating to other GI Lab locations. Requirements
- Experience as a Patient Care Tech, Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant highly preferred
- CPR BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy & medical terminology required
- Basic computer experience
- Ability to take vitals and perform CPR
Responsibilities
- Assist under the direction of the RN, in the implementation of the established plan of care.
- Assist the physician and the RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Responsible for procedure set-up, supply and equipment maintenance, processing and reprocessing of endoscopes and other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for meeting on-call criteria as defined by the department.
- The employee is expected to float to other GI Lab locations.
