About The Position

Assists in providing nursing care to the patient undergoing an endoscopic procedure. Performs assistive duties, assists in the maintenance of instruments, equipment and supplies. Assists in preparation, transportation and supervision of patients. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Surgical certification or 2 years of endoscopy or surgical related experience.
AHA or ARC BLS required.
Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and organize the endoscopy suite, including equipment, instruments, and supplies for daily procedures.
Verify patient identity, informed consent, correct procedure site, and participate in time-out processes.
Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout procedures, including sterilization and disinfection processses.
Ensure a safe clinical environment by following infection control, electrical safety, fire prevention, and biohazard protocals.
Anticipate procedural needs, efficiently manage supplies and equipment, and support smooth workflow during procedure.
Respond effectively to emergency situations, including CPR and respiratory distress, following established protocals.
Handle, label, transport, and process patient specimens according to policy and regulatory standards.
Safely operate endoscopy equipment, assist with patient positioning, and perform post-procedure cleanup and equipment handling.
