About The Position

The Endoscopy Patient Care Associate supports registered nurses with clinical tasks, including glucometry, EKGs, and vital signs. The PCA responds to the needs of patients and family members and takes a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit. The position is onsite at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, at 75 Francis Street, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on a day shift from 7–5:30. There are no weekend, holiday, or call requirements. A $750 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible new employees hired into PCA positions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification as a nursing assistant upon hire, unless the applicant is a nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component, such as a clinical rotation or simulation lab.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
May not currently hold a valid nursing license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual skills preferred.
Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred.
For nursing students hired as PCAs, nursing students enrolled in BSN programs or direct-entry master's programs are strongly preferred.
