About The Position

EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior Ambulance Service provides care for emergencies and scheduled medical transports. This position is available at multiple locations in Illinois.

Requirements

• Hold NREMT certification or a current state license, or have a license pending.
• Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
• Have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, and be able to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
• Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
• Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care consistent with EMT training.
• Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
• Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
• Prepare accurate written reports describing patients' conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
• Complete appropriate billing documentation.
• Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
