About The Position

EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior Ambulance Service provides emergency care and scheduled medical transports. The role involves assessing patients, communicating their condition to other medical professionals, documenting care, and maintaining the ambulance. The position is available at multiple locations in Illinois.

Requirements

• NREMT certification or a current state license; a pending license is also accepted.
• Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
• Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
• Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care consistent with EMT training.
• Transport patients safely and efficiently, using map-reading skills to identify streets, house numbers, and business addresses.
• Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
• Write accurate reports describing a patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
• Complete appropriate billing documentation.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
