About The Position

Provides basic life support care to patients who are ill or injured. Transports and transfers patients, assesses the extent of illness or injury, and establishes and prioritizes medical procedures. During ambulance transport, may apply artificial respiration or administer oxygen, dispense antiseptic solution to help prevent infection, start and administer intravenous fluids, and perform other emergency medical procedures. Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registration with the EMT National Registry.
• Licensure by the State EMS Authority.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

Responsibilities
