About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs in multiple Illinois locations, including Green Oaks. EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations, for emergency and scheduled medical transports. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 and is the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. The company employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses and operates more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation. The offered pay range is USD $20.00–$25.50 per hour, with rates based on years of experience and full-time scheduled templates.

Requirements

Have NREMT certification or a current state license; pending credentials are accepted.
Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, and be able to operate a vehicle safely in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
Attend company-provided training and a driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care appropriate to EMT training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Write accurate reports describing patients’ conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
Complete appropriate billing documentation.
Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor its fluid levels and gauges.
