About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring a Paramedic for its Green Oaks location. Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. The position supports emergency care and scheduled medical transports and involves patient assessment, treatment, documentation, and vehicle readiness. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 and is now the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest, employing more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses and operating more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The company also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Requirements

Hold NREMT certification or a current state license, or have a license pending.
Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, and be able to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care consistent with Paramedic training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, using map-reading skills to identify street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients appropriately and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Complete accurate written reports describing the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
