About The Position

The EMT-Advanced provides emergent care and transportation for patients in a professional and competent manner. The position requires flexibility, regular attendance, receptiveness to reasonably assigned additional responsibilities, and the ability to adapt as responsibilities and processes change with organizational needs. This role is with Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s Ambulance Transport Department in Pittsfield, Maine. It is full-time, with 36 hours per week; the work schedule has no assigned hours. The position may also assist with hospital-wide security services when not performing EMS functions.

Requirements

EMT-Advanced credential required.
Driver’s license required and a clean driving record required.
High school diploma or GED required.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire.
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
PALS certification from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
Demonstrates adaptability, emotional intelligence, effective communication, sound judgment and decision-making, commitment to health and safety, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Perform initial patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
Record accurate and complete documentation.
Relay appropriate and adequate information to the Emergency Department.
Maintain the upkeep of ambulances.
Participate in rotating scheduling assignments.
Assist with hospital-wide security services when not performing EMS functions.
Provide emergent care and patient transportation in a professional and competent manner.
