This position supervises the work of departmental personnel involved in emergency medical assistance and clerical work, develops and distributes shift assignments, procures equipment and supplies, maintains job performance records, coordinates departmental responses with other agencies, recommends personnel actions, serves as a communications liaison, coordinates in-service training, oversees office procedures for billing and accounts, prepares payroll records, serves as infection control officer, attends training sessions, and performs paramedic duties as needed. The role requires knowledge of applicable laws, departmental policies, county geography and road systems, budgeting, purchasing, basic accounting, emergency medical techniques, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skills in management, supervision, driving, emergency medical techniques, communication, record-keeping, report preparation, and decision-making are essential.
