About The Position

The County of Adams is seeking a qualified Chief Deputy Coroner to investigate sudden, unexplained, or violent deaths within the county. This is a full-time position with standard office hours Monday through Friday, plus additional hours for call-outs as required. This position requires professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. Requirements

• High School graduate.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
• Residence location must allow reasonable timely response to calls in Adams County, PA.
• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully complete the PA State Coroner’s Certification Course within 1 year of hire.
• Must successfully complete the National Coroner’s Certification Course within 5 years of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a Coroner’s department, in the funeral industry, medical vocation, fireman, paramedic or police officer strongly preferred.
