About The Position

This is a full-time, in office position responsible for the implementation of the EMS System, continuing education program. The role involves developing, administering, and teaching continuing education programs for System EMT-Ps and ECRNs, evaluating and overseeing recordkeeping of programs, and representing GSH EMS within Region VIII for the development of regional education needs. The position is also directly responsible for the implementation of the EMS System mandatory bi-annual exams for System ECRNs and paramedics. Additionally, the coordinator will assist the EMSS Coordinator at System meetings, aid in the reeducation of new and existing providers, assist in teaching paramedic, ECRN classes, and specialty courses, and be responsible for the annual Facilitator Seminar. The role also includes responsibilities as the EMSS Quality Assurance Coordinator, involving the development and implementation of the GSH EMSS Quality Assurance program, coordinating QA efforts with other Region VIII Resource Hospitals, evaluating QA data, and coordinating QA activities with educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

Develops, administers and teaches the continuing education program for System EMT-Ps and ECRNs.
Evaluates and oversees recordkeeping of programs and reports back to the System.
Represents GSH EMS within Region VIII for overall development of Regional education needs.
Directly responsible for the implementation of the EMS System mandatory bi-annual exams for the System ECRNs and paramedics.
Assists EMSS Coordinator at System meetings (ALS, Associate Coordinators, Chiefs, Physicians, Consortia, Education and Advisory Board).
Assists EMSS Coordinator in reeducation of new and existing providers at the department level.
Assists in the teaching of both the paramedic, ECRN classes and any specialty courses such as PEPP, ACLS and PHTLS.
Responsible for annual Facilitator Seminar.
Directly responsible for the development and implementation of the GSH EMSS Quality Assurance program.
Coordinates QA efforts with other Region VIII Resource Hospitals at the direction of Region VIII Medical Directors.
Evaluates QA data collected, provides feedback to Region, System and providers concerning performance.
Coordinates QA activities and results with educational initiatives for Region VIII and GSEMSS.
