King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) provides equitable opportunities for people to be healthy, happy, and connected to community. Learning Center Seattle (LCS) is one of our Children Youth and Young Adult Division's (CYYAD) reengagement sites in Seattle-King County. LCS supports young people ages 16-24 years to complete a secondary degree and move on to post-secondary education or advanced training. Many of the young people receiving services also need employment to meet their basic needs and explore careers that will ultimately lead to living wage employment. This position will be a key part of the LCS team and provide employment services to young people. This position will develop and oversee the broad spectrum of employment readiness programming including support to develop foundational skill sets (soft skills) and development of a career pathway. This will include leading Leadership Groups, Clubs, teaching Job Readiness workshops, and completing all the subsequent paperwork to support documentation of outcomes. This position bridges both the employment, academic, and foundational skills programming and needs a dynamic and self-motivated person that can relate to, lead, and follow youth within an alternative school setting. This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position that is anticipated to be 2 years in duration. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA).
