King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) provides equitable opportunities for people to be healthy, happy, and connected to community. Our Children, Youth and Young Adults Division (CYYAD) is recruiting for two (2) Employment Specialists, Occupational Education and Training Coordinators (OETC). These positions provide curriculum design, and basic skills instruction for out-of-school youth enrolled in educational services at King County YouthSource and Shoreline Community College's Center for Education and Career Opportunities (CECO). The Employment Specialist positions provide job readiness training to CYYAD participants and plan, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate training and participant preparation. The Employment Specialist’s primary duties include assisting youth and young adults to identify career interests, developing resumes and cover letters, understanding how to complete applications, interview for employment, and retain employment. The Employment Specialists are a highly skilled instructional and administrative position working in partnership with the case management team and Reconnect to Opportunity Team. This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position that is anticipated to end December 31, 2027. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA).
