About The Position

RISE Services is seeking an Employment Program Manager to help individuals with disabilities find and maintain meaningful employment while providing day-to-day supervision and support to assigned Employment Specialists. This is a hands-on, working management position. You will maintain your own client caseload, provide services in community and workplace settings, coach staff, and step in when service coverage is needed. The position begins part-time, with the opportunity to become full-time as the caseload and staffing needs increase. Services are provided throughout Harrisonburg and surrounding Shenandoah Valley communities. Regular local travel and in-person work are required. Your schedule must accommodate client employment needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends. If the position becomes full-time, the expectation is at least 30 billable direct-service hours per week, alongside supervisory and documentation responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the service area and transport clients when required.
  • Strong organization, communication, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance direct client services with staff coaching and timely documentation.
  • Comfort giving clear feedback, addressing concerns, and following through.
  • Ability to work independently and use electronic records, scheduling systems, and other workplace technology.
  • Successful completion of required background checks and driving-record reviews.

  • Supervisory, team-lead, training, or staff-mentoring experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients explore career interests, search for jobs, complete applications, prepare for interviews, and succeed at work.
  • Provide in-person job coaching, workplace training, and employment-retention support.
  • Build relationships with local employers and identify employment opportunities.
  • Supervise and coach assigned Employment Specialists, including observing services and providing practical feedback.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and client coverage, including providing backup services during absences or vacancies.
  • Complete accurate, timely progress notes and review staff documentation.
  • Monitor client progress, address service gaps, and follow up on staff performance concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, employers, referral partners, and program leadership.
