About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Employment Specialist to help individuals living with mental health challenges achieve their employment and educational goals through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Supported Employment Program. In this highly rewarding, community-based role, you will work directly with participants, employers, schools, and community partners to help individuals find and maintain competitive employment, pursue education and training opportunities, and build greater independence and confidence. Approximately 65% of your time will be spent in the community meeting with participants and employers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Rehabilitation, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges.
  • Experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, case management, or human services.
  • Knowledge of community employment resources and employer engagement.
  • Familiarity with IPS Supported Employment is a plus.
  • Passion for helping people achieve employment and educational success.
  • Strong advocacy, problem-solving, and engagement skills.
  • A person-centered, recovery-oriented approach.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to empowering others.

Responsibilities

  • Build supportive relationships with participants in community settings.
  • Help individuals identify career interests, strengths, and employment goals.
  • Assist with job searches, applications, interviews, and employer outreach.
  • Develop relationships with local employers and connect participants to job opportunities.
  • Provide job coaching and ongoing support to help individuals succeed at work.
  • Educate participants on how employment may impact benefits and connect them with resources as needed.
  • Support participants in exploring education, training, and career pathways.
  • Assist with school enrollment, financial aid applications, and educational planning.
  • Coordinate with schools, disability services offices, and other educational supports.
  • Partner with clinical teams, vocational rehabilitation counselors, families, and community providers.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and service planning.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program requirements.
