About The Position

Charles Lea Center is looking to hire a full-time Employment Coordinator primarily working in middle Tennessee. This position offers competitive pay of $22.12/hr, flexibility with primarily Monday-Friday schedules and occasional weekends, and the ability for employees to choose start and end times within a set range, provided core values and hours are met. The Charles Lea Center is a CQL accredited organization based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, providing services in South Carolina, North Carolina, and recently was awarded a contract with the Tennessee Department of Disability & Aging (DDA) to provide services in Tennessee.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to pass a background check upon hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Vehicle Insurance of a specific coverage amount
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field; or
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a non-related field and one year of relevant experience; or
  • Associate degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience means experience working directly with persons with intellectual, developmental, or other types of disabilities or mental illness.

Responsibilities

  • Developing career advancement opportunities for individuals supported through the Charles Lea Center and the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA).
  • Identifying and securing community-based employment opportunities by matching individuals’ skills, abilities, and interests with appropriate job placements.
  • Coordinating, initiating, and managing referrals and employment services to support individuals in achieving their employment goals.
  • Building partnerships and outreach opportunities within the community to enhance employment skills training and promote competitive, integrated employment outcomes that align with each individual's goals and aspirations.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to individuals throughout the employment process to encourage job retention, career growth, and successful outcomes.
