About The Position

Saturna Trust Company is seeking an Employer Services Relationship Manager to manage and strengthen relationships with key 401(k) plan clients, advisors, third-party administrators, and internal partners. This role serves as the primary client contact and is responsible for delivering a responsive, professional, and high-quality client experience that supports client satisfaction, retention, and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused retirement services professional with strong communication skills, solid knowledge of 401(k) plans and related regulations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with 401(k) plans.
  • At least 2 years of experience handling complex client interactions.
  • Working knowledge of retirement plan design, recordkeeping, plan administration, and current IRS, ERISA, and DOL regulations.
  • Working knowledge of 401(k) plan regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience presenting to individuals or groups.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style and frequency to client preferences.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to creatively and proactively solve problems while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • FINRA Series 7, 63, or 66 preferred, or ability to obtain within the first 9 months of employment.
  • Recognized industry accreditation preferred, such as QKC, CRPS, CFPA, AIF, or similar.
  • Ability to obtain ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Consultant, Qualified Plan Administrator, or equivalent credential within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key client and advisor relationships with a focus on satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between assigned clients and internal Saturna teams.
  • Lead client meetings, conference calls, and ongoing relationship touchpoints.
  • Maintain current client account records, including plan issues, timelines, and resolution status.
  • Proactively communicate service enhancements and relevant updates to clients.
  • Lead onboarding for newly assigned qualified retirement plans, including transition meetings, conference calls, and plan document discussions.
  • Partner with TPA service teams, producers, financial advisors, and other intermediaries on client management needs.
  • Keep leadership informed of key client and advisor activities.
  • Maintain presentation and enrollment materials for plan sponsors and participants.
  • Coordinate education campaigns to increase employee engagement and plan participation.
  • Maintain knowledge of investments, qualified retirement plans, and regulatory requirements affecting retirement benefits.
  • Stay current on Saturna’s products and services and how they compare within the industry.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts related to new business development.
  • Assist in negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes involving products, fees, service expectations, and other deliverables.
  • Complete routine weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables for internal and external clients.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
