Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, or payroll preferred.
  • Experience with pension systems or employer reporting processes is preferred.
  • Sharp eye for detail and the ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations.
  • Comfortable analyzing contribution, service, and compensation data, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and navigate specialized reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Occasional in-state travel, including overnight stays, to support employer training sessions and outreach efforts.
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license is required for use of company vehicles.

  • Relevant experience with PSRS/PEERS may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with employers to ensure the accuracy of contribution, service, and compensation data.
  • Analyze employer-submitted data, identify and resolve discrepancies, and provide guidance on reporting and eligibility requirements.
  • Monitor submissions to maintain accurate member accounts, verify retirement eligibility, and perform audits on salary and service records.
  • Investigate salary variances, coordinate with Member Services and Accounting on benefit suspensions and reinstatements, and generate audit reports.
  • Review and reconcile employer statements, process adjustments, and analyze GASB 68 submissions in collaboration with Internal Audit.
  • Maintain educational resources such as newsletters and online learning tools.
  • Serve as a resource during employer training sessions held throughout the state.
  • Assist with employer training sessions and educational resources.
  • Collaborate across departments, gaining insight into auditing, accounting, and member services processes.
  • Participate in ongoing training, attend in-state conferences, and stay current on industry best practices.
