Stanislaus Food Products is a nationally recognized, family-owned company known for crafting the finest Italian-style tomatoes and sauces for top-quality Italian restaurants and pizzerias. This is a full-time position located on-site at our Modesto administrative office. In this role, you will be responsible for all Employee Services daily functions which include: scheduling, leave of absences, filing, benefits, employee documentation coordination and completion, and employee services. Provide responsive, professional, and customer-focused support to employees and internal stakeholders. During Tomato Pack Season, employees in this role are expected to work extended schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed to support operational requirements. Our Season runs from Mid-July through end of September but could extend. During our regular schedule, this position works Monday – Friday from approximately 8:00 am- 5 pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with high-volume data and maintaining accurate records required.
  • 2-3 years of professional customer/employee service experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications, with advanced proficiency in Excel including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis functions.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be able to work long hours including the weekends during the Tomato Pack Season.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee and labor relations information.
  • Strong problem-solving, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; strong customer service values.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, supervisors, and leaders across the organization.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence when managing employee inquiries and challenging situations.

  • Strong computer skills to include but not limited to MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other computer driven software.
  • Ability to learn and utilize HRIS, scheduling, and workforce management systems.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with UKG and Indeavor.
  • Knowledge of union environments, collective bargaining agreements, and seniority-based scheduling practices preferred.
  • Experience with workforce scheduling systems; Indeavor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary scheduler for assigned Distribution Center and Cannery operations during scheduled shifts. All scheduling must be done following production demands and CBA regulations.
  • Ensure all absences are recorded and replaced in a timely manner in accordance to the CBA seniority regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding and providing day-to-day guidance to seasonal clerical employees to support Employee Services operations.
  • People Operations administration support to hourly employees for all People Operations functions including customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Coordinate Seasonal Registration logistics in partnership with the Employee Services Manager, including handbook updates, packet preparation, scheduling, logistics, etc.
  • Assist employees with leave-of-absence processes, collect and maintain required documentation, and coordinate leave administration in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Review Vacation and Sick hour requests and submit requests with Payroll following Company protocols.
  • Coordinate the employee benefits process in accordance with company programs and policies.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of People Operations policies and procedures for their tasks.
  • Collect, compile, and enter data into computer systems, generate reports, and advise on routine system operations.
  • Help prepare and maintain employee records and People Operations documentation including scanning employee documentation in HRIS.
  • Provide excellent customer service – especially in complex or high-pressure situations.
