The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) aims to make city government work effectively for all New Yorkers by managing iconic courthouses, municipal buildings, and purchasing over $1 billion in goods and services annually for more than 80 City agencies. DCAS's work ensures that all agencies can deliver on their missions, touching every facet of city government and supporting the day-to-day operations of the City of New York. Their commitment to equity, effectiveness, and sustainability guides their work in providing critical resources and support to City agencies. This includes recruiting, hiring, and training City employees; managing 56 public buildings; acquiring, selling, and leasing City property; purchasing goods and services; overseeing the greenest municipal vehicle fleet; and leading efforts to reduce carbon emissions from government operations. Working at DCAS means supporting all agencies and protecting the future of New York City. The Employee Relations unit administers employee wellness programs, manages performance management for non-managerial employees, and develops programs to improve employee engagement and quality of work life. The unit also provides counsel on DCAS policies and procedures, workplace issues, and assists with onboarding and offboarding employees. This specific position will directly support the agency's workforce and Employee Relations initiatives by providing administrative and employee-facing support across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, offboarding, benefits, and HR operations. Filling this position is critical to sustaining these functions and ensuring the agency can meet its workforce and operational objectives, especially given current staffing constraints.
