About The Position

The Employee Dining Room Attendant is responsible for preparing and maintaining the quality and quantity of food in the employee dining room, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the room. This role supports the hotel's shared values of acquisition, execution, and profitability. The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles is located in Pasadena, California, near historic sites and a vibrant shopping and entertainment district.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
  • Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions read recipes and communicates with other employees
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and work continuously in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
  • Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • High school education preferred, G.E.D. accepted. diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all foods for use in employee cafeteria
  • Maintains the quantity of food
  • Maintains quality of food by monitoring temperatures, covers, and rotation of food to comply with health department regulations
  • Ensures adequate quantity of silverware and dishes are available throughout day
  • Transports soiled service ware to kitchen and back to cafeteria after cleaned
  • Completes storeroom requisition according to hotel policy
  • Checks and controls the proper storage of product
  • Ensures all equipment in cafeteria is clean and in proper working condition
  • Properly punches in/out according to schedule
  • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning product as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • Keeps floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.
