About The Position

The Employee Cafeteria Attendant keeps the employee cafeteria clean and organized and provides employees with attractive, nutritious food. The role is responsible for food quality, portion control, production levels, presentation, freshness, and safe food preparation, storage, and service. The attendant prepares the cafeteria for lunch and dinner, replenishes food and supplies, and closes the cafeteria while maintaining cleanliness.

Requirements

Knowledge of kitchen operations.
At least 2 years of experience in a kitchen or stewarding operation in a hotel, restaurant, or club.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Uphold food quality standards, portion control, production levels, and presentation.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with health regulations for food preparation, storage, and service.
Clean the steam table, refrigerator, beverage station, and ice bin daily.
Sweep and mop the floor daily.
Ensure products are fresh daily.
Follow the salad bar menu exactly, adding only items that may have been left over from banquets.
Fill salt and pepper shakers, condiments, and similar supplies daily.
Have lunch and dinner ready on time and close the cafeteria.
Clean tables and chairs and empty garbage after each shift.
Replace food before it runs out so employees do not have to wait for their meals.
