About The Position

A premier global law firm is seeking an Employee Benefits (Health & Welfare) Associate Attorney to join its Atlanta office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising employers, plan sponsors, and organizations on sophisticated employee benefits and health & welfare plan matters.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of employee benefits, executive compensation, or ERISA experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience advising clients on health & welfare benefit plans and related compliance matters
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), and the No Surprises Act
  • Experience counseling employers and plan sponsors regarding ERISA compliance, employee benefits administration, plan design, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience reviewing and drafting plan documents, summary plan descriptions, employee communications, and related benefits documentation
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated advisory matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Georgia bar admission required or ability to become admitted

  • Experience supporting the employee benefits aspects of mergers & acquisitions and other corporate transactions is preferred
