About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital offers EmERge, a one-year emergency veterinarian mentorship training program designed to build the skills and confidence needed to practice as an Emergency Veterinarian at a BluePearl hospital. The program combines one-on-one peer-guided mentorship with case-based lectures, interactive seminars, hands-on practice labs, specialty rotations, and emergency room shifts. Participants receive a salary from the first day of the program and learn from experienced emergency clinicians.

The program has three phases. Phase 1 (Weeks 1–14) includes four weeks of bootcamp training, with virtual instruction in Weeks 1–2 and in-person training in Weeks 3–4; two weeks of specialty rotations; and eight weeks of emergency room shifts under mentorship. Phase 2 (Weeks 15–32) involves full emergency room shifts, progressively more complex cases and responsibility, ongoing mentor check-ins, varied emergency case exposure, and weekly educational webinars. Phase 3 (Weeks 33–52) involves independent emergency case management, collaboration with the hospital team, application of advanced diagnostic and procedural skills, access to mentor support, and continued weekly webinars. The program is followed by a one-year post-EmERge commitment.

Salary is $120,000 during Phase 1 and $120,000 during Phase 2. During Phase 3, participants receive a full-time ER Clinician market-rate salary plus a quarterly production bonus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or hold ECFVG certification.
• Have passed the NAVLE or have it pending.
• Hold or be eligible for a license to practice in the state of interest.

Responsibilities

• Complete foundational emergency medicine training through bootcamp instruction, specialty rotations, and mentored emergency room shifts.
• Progressively manage more complex emergency cases and work full emergency room shifts while developing clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Participate in regular mentor check-ins to review cases, address challenges, and refine clinical skills.
• Take responsibility for independent emergency case management during Phase 3.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to provide patient care and develop leadership and communication skills.
• Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills to high-acuity cases.
• Participate in weekly educational webinars throughout Phases 2 and 3.
