About The Position

Lakeside Spears Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its three-doctor practice in Carbondale, Illinois. The role offers a diverse general-practice caseload and the opportunity to work alongside a compassionate, collaborative team. Veterinarians are empowered to practice medicine in a way that aligns with their individual styles and serve clients and their pets to the best of their abilities. The hospital provides comprehensive care, including surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, radiology, ultrasonography, and CT, with advanced diagnostic equipment and in-house laboratory capabilities. New graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply. The position offers day shifts, flexible scheduling, medical autonomy, mentorship, and a first-year total compensation package that may range from $110,000 to $180,000 or more, depending on experience, schedule, location, and production. Compensation may include base salary, production incentives, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and other applicable benefits and incentives.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
Current DEA license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Active veterinary state license.
USDA accreditation or ability to obtain it upon hire.
Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
Compassionate, team-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
