About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Queens is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. Our hospital is located in the Forest Hills area of Queens, and we serve pets in the neighborhoods of Astoria, Bayside, Bellerose, Corona, Elmhurst, Flushing, Fresh Meadows, Glen Oaks, Howard Beach, Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Kew Gardens, Long Island City, Middle Village, Oakland Gardens, Richmond Hill, Ridgewood, St. Albans, Sunnyside, Whitestone, Woodhaven and Woodside. Those without ER experience (including new graduates) are encouraged to apply through our EmERge Mentorship Training Program. BluePearl Queens offers 24/7 emergency medicine, cardiology, critical care, dermatology and allergy treatment, internal medicine, soft tissue, minimally invasive, and orthopedic surgery, oncology, radiology, and anesthesiology. Our state-of-the-art facility has advanced equipment including a CT scanner, hemodialysis unit, long term ventilator, endoscopy and arthroscopy. The entire hospital is located on one floor, which is beneficial for large or immobile patients. Located in Forest Hills, NY and serves all of Queens County, including the areas of Forest Hills, Queens, Rego Park, Middle Village, and lower Nassau County. Our hospital is the only 24-hour emergency and specialty hospitals in Queens. We are accessible by public transportation and have a parking garage within our building. Built in 2008, our hospital was one of the original locations when BluePearl was founded.

Requirements

DVM/VMD degree required.
Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
