About The Position

Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital is expanding its services to include emergency and urgent care medicine and is seeking an Emergency/Urgent Care Veterinarian to lead or be part of a new team. This role will provide essential emergency and urgent care services, working with a skilled support team to establish protocols and workflows for the new service. The position is dedicated to overnight coverage in a fast-paced environment. Both full-time and part-time candidates are considered, with flexible scheduling options available.

Requirements

• DVM Licensed (or eligible) in Florida.
• Experience or strong interest in emergency/urgent care.
• Skilled in urgent care / ER cases and surgery.
• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
• Active Veterinary Florida State License.
• USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.

• Prefers working overnights (Night Owl).
• Confident, compassionate, and ready to help build something new.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential emergency and urgent care services to patients.
• Work alongside a skilled and collaborative support team.
• Help establish the protocols, workflows, and overall success of the new emergency service.
• Practice medicine at the highest level using modern diagnostic tools, digital radiology, in-house lab capabilities, and surgical suites.
