About The Position

Small Animal Emergency Services in Vass, NC seeks an experienced, compassionate Emergency Veterinarian to join our tight-knit team. You will provide high-quality emergency and urgent care for dogs and cats, lead case triage, perform emergency procedures, and collaborate with experienced technicians to deliver excellent client communication and patient outcomes. Requirements

  • DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Current NC veterinary license (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Emergency medicine experience preferred; motivated new graduates with emergency skillset considered.
  • Strong procedural skills (intubation, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, basic emergency surgery).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and client-service orientation.
  • Ability to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and urgent medical/surgical care for small animal patients.
  • Triage and stabilize critical patients; perform emergency surgeries and diagnostics.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about status, prognosis, and treatment options.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians and support staff; mentor colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols and standards.
